EthoVision XT

New in EthoVision XT 17

EthoVision XT 17 brings a ton of new features and improvements. From our deep learning tracking algorithm to software based licensing and experiment merging.

Advanced deep learning tracking in 4 arenas

Increase throughput of your behavioral test with our advanced deep learning tracking technology.

Deep learning technology uses neural networks to allow a computer to ‘learn by experience’ and was introduced in EthoVision XT 16. It is the next evolution in behavioral tracking, increasing robustness of your data and advancing your research. Here is a comparison between the contour-based tracking and the new deep learning tracking in EthoVision XT (both are available in EthoVision XT Base).

EthoVision XT is the most widely applied video tracking software that tracks and analyzes the behavior, movement, and activity of any animal.

  • A cost-effective solution for all standard behavioral tests such as the Morris water maze and open field testing

  • High-throughput and high-content testing

  • Suitable for sophisticated test-protocols

Software based licensing

The USB dongle is a thing of the past in EthoVision XT 17! A digital software license can be used online or offline and can also be activated on a different computer when needed, making it great for research groups performing video batch analyses. No more losing of dongles or shipping delays. Instant functionality, user friendly.

Experiment merging

You can now merge (previous) experiments in EthoVision XT 17. This creates the possibility to (re-)analyze your control animals from different experiments. Due to changing conditions or new insights, you have the opportunity to easily import previous projects, and applying a new data profile to this merged project.

"EthoVision XT is for dummies."

Prof. Roberto Rimondini is a neuropsychopharmacologist at the Department of Medical and Clinical Sciences DIMEC, Alma Mater Studiorum Bologna (University of Bologna, Italy). He has been using EthoVision XT video tracking software since its DOS version! He finds it so easy to use, it’s ‘dummy proof’!
